FIVE NEW JOINING MEMBERS FOR POLYTECHNIC LODGE
The Worshipful Master, Wardens and all the Brethren of the Polytechnic Lodge are delighted to welcome five Joining Members at our next Lodge meeting at Charterhouse, London
Worshipful Brother John Turner, PPGSwdB (Herts) a Past Master of the Lea Valley Lodge No. 4827, Brothers Mehdi Saadian, Behzad Noroozi, Dariush Moghtader and Ken Crawley all Master Masons from the Walpole Manor Lodge No. 6555 have all completed application forms for Joining Membership of the Polytechnic Lodge. Their details will be read out in open Lodge at our October meeting and a ballot for their membership will take place in November.
Worshipful Brother John Turner is no stranger to the Polytechnic Lodge and has been a returning guest for the past two years. In fact, some of our junior members thought that he was a well-established member already. It is marvellous that now the issue of remaining at Charterhouse has been resolved by a large majority of Polytechnic Lodge members, that John has decided to join us as a full member.
Brothers Mehdi, Behzad, Dariush and Ken have come to us under somewhat sadder circumstances. Their mother lodge, Walpole Manor No 6555, consecrated in 1947, is due to surrender it’s Warrant back to United Grand Lodge in November. It is always sad when it is not viable for a lodge to remain despite hard work to save it. Friendships made over the years are always invariably lost over a period of time. By a number of the Walpole Manor members joining the Polytechnic Lodge at least something is salvageable by keeping a number of them altogether. The Walpole Manor Lodge met at the West Ealing Masonic Centre.
The Worshipful Master of the Polytechnic Lodge accompanied by a welcoming party of seven other Polytechnic Lodge members met up with four of our new joiners at the Sir Christopher Hatton PH in Leather Lane, London to get to know each other better prior to our next meeting. The evening was a great success and many beers were consumed during the course of the evening. At the end of the evening, three of us went on for a delicious Greek Meal to soak up some of the beer consumed.
The Worshipful Master of the Polytechnic Lodge, Worshipful Brother William Dadswell LGR, LGCR, said, “It was a pleasure to join other members of the Lodge to meet informally four Brothers who are joining our Lodge. We met up for a drink and to chat about the Polytechnic and to say how pleased we were that they wished to join our Lodge. They were all excellent company and within a very short space of time it seemed as if we had known each other for years. I am sure they will be a real asset to the Lodge and I really look forward to meeting them again in October”.
