Polytechnic Lodge Supports Standard Lodge and London Province of Knights Templar

Members of The Polytechnic Lodge were made aware of two special events taking place at a recent meeting of the Standard Lodge No. 6820. Metropolitan Grand Inspector Nick Garnish was due to make a presentation of a 50th year long service certificate to Worshipful Brother Ken Gamblin, and at the same meeting a frequent guest to our lodge, Brother Callum Crosby was to be passed to the second degree.

Due to the ill health of several members of the Standard Lodge, a number of key offices needed to be filled. Five members of The Polytechnic Lodge stepped forward to help out their Brothers at Standard Lodge, and the meeting went off without a glitch. Brother Callum’s Passing Ceremony was conducted in front of his proud father and grandfather who are both members of the Standard Lodge. Worshipful Brother Ken Gamblin’s son, a member of another lodge was also present to witness his dad receiving his long service certificate accompanied by some very nice words by the Metropolitan Grand Inspector.

A true family get together in the real sense of the word.

And during Advent, a total of eight guests representing The Polytechnic Lodge joined the Provincial Priory of London Knights Templar for their nine lessons and carol service at Saint Botolph without Bishopsgate Church. This was a very enjoyable evening celebrating the coming of Christmas with members of the Knights Templar. After the service, we were treated to a marvelous buffet in the Church hall which had previously been occupied by the Worshipful Company of Fan Makers, situated in the beautiful gardens of St Botolph,
